This might not seem a lot at first but can add up if you keep dying. Each death you will lose 5% of their total level of each skill. Not only do you drop the items you were carrying but you end up losing some skill levels too. Just like in any other game, dying in Valheim can be punishing. How You Can Lose Skill Levels Dying Makes you Lose Skill Levels You will have to keep an eye on your stamina bar and make sure to regenerate when you need to. This makes it that you can't just AFK grind with a macro. So you will want to recover stamina before you continue using the skill. Doing an action with a drained stamina bar is not going to give you experience. The best way to get better at something is to keep doing it! Stamina must not be depletedĪnother requirement for gaining experience is to be spending stamina when using a skill. For skills that deal damage, you will also need to be dealing damage ( even 0 damage) to a target to gain experience for it. Once you get enough experience, you gain a level, increasing your ability in that skill. Just like in real life, to gain experience for your skills to get better at them, you will need to do the actions tied to the skill (e.g., running will give your experience for Run skill, jumping will increase your experience for Jump skill).
